Bringing People Together With Food!
Alex Smith was an energetic and ambitious 22-year-old who had a wonderful, big heart. Alex loved working with children and was a youth and children’s ministry leader. As a 2015 Central Dauphin East High School graduate, Alex enjoyed being an athlete on both the lacrosse and wrestling teams there. Embracing his passion for entertaining and whipping up culinary delights, Alex attended and graduated from the HACC culinary program. He became an incredible chef apprentice at Greystone Public House.
With dreams of opening his own restaurant, Alex shared his love of good eats with all who knew him. After tragically passing away in 2018, the Alex W. Smith Foundation was founded by his loving family to honor Alex by uplifting other young lives. Together, we are making sure his beautiful love of life and his amazing legacy continue to live on through supporting other students and their dreams.
Our foundation’s motto is “bringing people together with food” which Alex thoroughly enjoyed. These are the words of Alex, as he explained why he chose the culinary field to pursue as a career. Proceeds from events along with donations will provide financial assistance and scholarships to Central Pennsylvania high school students in Alex’s memory.
