Alex W. Smith Foundation to Honor Son’s Love Of Food By Supporting Students With Educational Scholarships. Tickets Are Available Now!
The Alex Smith family and their Foundation are hosting Alex’s Chili Cook-Off For A Cause on Sunday, September 24 at a NEW LOCATION Greystone Brew House, Dillsburg, PA to carry on their son’s legacy and to bring people together with food and fun. Alex Smith worked as a chef apprentice at Greystone Public House and was a graduate of HACC’s Culinary Program prior to his tragic passing in 2018.
Terri Smith, Alex’s Mom and Foundation President said, “We love hosting Alex’s Chili Cook-off every year and look forward to seeing Alex’s friends, family, former culinary students and the public gather to honor our beautiful son, who left us way too soon and had such a big heart. It’s beautiful to see Central Pennsylvania come out to help us celebrate Alex’s love of food, laughter and enjoyment for having fun. Our son was an energetic, fun-loving and ambitious 22-year-old and an incredible chef who loved sports and serving in the Children’s Ministry. Alex had dreams of opening his own restaurant to share his love of good eats with everyone, so we created the annual chili cook-off to celebrate our amazing son Alex. Keeping Alex’s memory alive is what keeps us inspired. We are grateful that his legacy of bringing people together is helping the futures of area students.”
